PHOTOGRAPHY: JACK FISHER

to pop culture viewed through an ethical lens, Siobhan is fascinated with tension points in our modern age.

She’s recently written about why thousands of Australians are taking to the streets to protest the war in Gaza, whether anti-Zionism can be classed as anti-Semitism, and how misogynistic porn is impacting Australian teens.

Since joining the ABC in 2017, Siobhan has reported on cults, cosmetic enhancement, queer coming out stories, and the friction between climate change and Christianity in the Torres Strait.

Between making podcasts and pitching TV programs (check out Nude Next Door on ABC iview), Siobhan is digital lead for the Religion and Ethics unit, where she’s made viral social media videos on Zoroastrianism, and what the Netflix hit Unorthodox gets right and wrong.

Siobhan holds a Bachelor of Journalism (Hons) from the Queensland University of Technology, where she was awarded a position on the Dean's List for Academic Excellence. Before joining the ABC, she worked for Matchbox Pictures, SBS and Pacific Magazines.
